Polio Plus Society Presentation
Badar Shamin, the district Polio Plus Chair was with us today to provide some information and make a presentation. The Polio Plus campaign remains RI’s number one global project and we are down to just 2 countries where the disease remains active – Afghanistan and Pakistan. RI members are encouraged to continue to support the campaign and every dollar that is contributed is matched 2 to 1 by the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation. To support this initiative and recognize donors, the Polio Plus Society has been created, and individuals who contribute $100 per year are recognised with a pin. Badar was very pleased to be able to present pins to both Louise and Graham Gardiner.
