On behalf of President David, Past President John made Howard Pell the Bell Ringers for this week for all of his efforts getting all of the shifts filled for Car draw ticket selling.
Ed Fowler was pleased that a very successful Youth Exchange Rebound debriefing session took place on the weekend and that Eric Tremblay, our outbound student to Finland last year will be presenting to the club next Monday.
Jim Brown was pleased to report that he recently celebrated his 70th birthday and that he and wife Linda had two great weeks at the cottage where Linda didn't do any business work..
Bill Proctor was pleased to announce that today was his 46th anniversary of his wedding to Judy. He also let members know that, despite the uncooperative weather, he and Dave Chatson had a good day at the Market last Saturday with $600 in ticket sales.
Members are encouraged to continue to sign up for shifts for selling Card Draw tickets at the Market and the Plowing Match. Members are asked to keep in mind that for us to meet our Car Draw fundraising goals EVERY member needs to sell about $2,000 worth of tickets.
Today's meeting was our annual hands-on envelope stuffing of our Car Draw direct mail out. Prior to the start of the stuffing our guests from KidsAbility - Linda Kenny, CEO, and Lisa Talbot, Executive Direction of the KidsAbility Foundation made a few comments. Linda emphasised how important the contributions of our Rotary Club is to KidsAbility and how much our relationship with them is valued. Lisa indicated that due to the contributions from our and other Rotary clubs KidsAbility was able to provide service to over 1,000 additional children last year.
Please remember to advise Bill Proctor of situations which would require some acknowledgement from the club - special anniversaries, illness, celebrations, hospitalizations etc.
You are the eyes and ears for the club and without your notification to Bill situations and circumstances will go unnoticed. Bill can be contacted at 519-570-2119 or bill.proctor@bell.net
Sandra has now officially retired! On behalf of our club she was presented with a beautiful flower arrangement and dinner gift certificate for her and Jim to enjoy! Your board is in the process of investigating the best way to replace the MANY things Sandra has done for us, often without most of even knowing!! Sandra will be formally recognized at one of our upcoming events.
Please continue to email any information or inquiries, including make-up requests to RotKit@sentex.net as it is now monitored by Dave Chatson and John Webster.
Sandra, THANK YOU! for your years of service, guidance and often times patience with our club. Best of wishes to you and Jim!!
