PRESIDENT'S CORNER
President John Webster welcomed us to our first meeting at the Hanson Avenue location of KidsAbility.
BELL RINGER(S)
Last Thursday, Cheryl Ewing was selling tickets at the Market.  Her daughter was going to help her take down the canopy at the end of the day but got called into work.  Cheryl sent out an email asking for help and many responded.  Today's Bell Ringers are Alasdair Douglas who went to help and all of those who volunteered.
SERGEANT-AT-ARMS / GUESTS
Sargent-at-arms Mike Pollard introduced Sandra Evans, Judy Proctor, wife of Governor Bill, Linda Kenny, CEO KidsAbility and Lisa Talbot, Executive Director, KidsAbility Foundation.

CLUB ANNOUNCEMENTS
John Webster indication that we have received final approval for a District Matching Grant of US$5,000 (Cdn$6,400). This will be used to equip a Rotary Computer Room at Haven House in Cambridge.  Funds were also provided by several Cluster clubs and a few individuals.  A special thank you to Cheryl Ewing and Ray Taylor for working through the submission.

On a related note, we will need one of more Rotarians to attend A Rotary Grant workshop in November.  This is required to maintain our status to apply for additional grants.  More info will be available.

John also said the club has been invited to participate in Williamsburg Festival on Sept. 11th from 11- 4 PM.  RBJ Schlegel Urban Development group invited the club to put up a tent to promote Rotary and sell Car Draw tickets if we wish.  The event will be in the area of the Williamsburg Centre.  John has the contact information on this.

John also announced for Al Way’s benefit that the Rotary Motorcycle Enthusiasts will be holding a two week ride event in India.

Wayne Boehler – is looking for volunteers to sell Car Draw tickets at the Plowing Match in Harriston September 20 - 24, 2016.  All days but Friday are available (car and canopy will be there).  It is preferable for 2 sellers to be there for the day.

There are also part day openings at the Market this Thursday and Saturday.
