How do they do it?  Our weekly winner of Catch the Ace was once again, Bill A. of St. Catharines.  After winning in week 18, 22 and 29, Bill has continued to be a regular player and has seen the results in winning again this week.  His choice this week was card #5, revealing the 7 of Hearts.  He won the weekly prize of $334.

Program Highlights

Our program today was the Kick Off to our Annual Car Lottery Fundraiser led by Dave Chatson.

He began with a bit of history and some highlights from last year’s campaign:
  • Our first Car Draw was in 1930 and we believe our 91 years of the fundraiser represents the longest running Car Draw in Canada
  • Traditionally we have sold physical tickets but last year we tried an online lottery and with the lessons learned we planned to continue with this format
  • Last year the fundraiser ran for 12 weeks from September 7 to November 27
  • We grossed just over $113,000 and were able to donate $15,000 to KidsAbility
  • The Prize was a 2022 Audi Q5 Quattro Luxury SUV
  • The winner was James Whitehead from London Ontario

For this year planning includes:
  • Investigating a different vehicle model.  An electric or hybrid is being considered but delivery can be an issue as it can take over 18 months to have one delivered
  • Determining the online start Date, July 1 no longer possible but a summer strat is hoped for
  • Run the Lottery 16-20 weeks
  • Continue existing partnerships
  • Engage Club Members, by providing clea,r easy to use resources.
  • Leverage existing database and expand
  • Increase local marketing footprint - newer member Josh Graham to take the lead on this
  • Grow our dynamic committee!

Dave highlight the individuals and organizations with whom we have partnered.

Unfortunately Michael Crosby from the Crosby Auto Group could not be with us today due to a sudden death in his family.

Michael CrosbyWhen Gordon Crosby opened Crosby Volkswagen in April of 1966, he started a deep tradition of Customer Service, believing and acting on the principle that the happiness and satisfaction of the customer is more important than any profit made on a single transaction.

Their core values include treating the customer with respect, honesty and integrity; to treat clients in a way that those at the dealership would wish to be treated themselves.

Deon Van Der WattCrosby Auto Group, encompassing Listowel Honda, Crosby Volkswagen,  nd Audi Kitchener-Waterloo is led by their Dealer Principle , Michael Crosby.   About 10 years ago they invested in their Vision, Mission and Value Statements that have been instrumental in creating the culture they have today.   These statements are the fundamentals that support their internal culture, as well as their customer-centric focus.  They represent who they are.   Deon  Van Der Watt, the General Manager has been most supportive and helpful with the project as well.

Kitchener Rotary is privileged and proud to partner with Audi – Kitchener Waterloo for our 2nd annual online car Lottery.

Our committee is also benefiting greatly from working with:
